森林ー大気間の相互作用に関するWorkshop(6 Feb 2020)

気候変動が森林生態系に大きな影響を与える一方、森林での水循環が気候形成に大きく関わっていることをご存知でしょうか?

九州大学福岡演習林で、東京大学と台湾大学からその筋の専門家を招聘して、森林ー大気間の相互作用に関するワークショップを開催します。

The workshop will be held!

The workshop, titled “Problems and Solutions to the Environmental Issues Facing the Southeast and East Asia, under Changing Climate”, will be held on February 10, 2020.

In this workshop, government officers and researchers from Southeast Asian and East Asian countries will report environmental issues they are facing and current governmental strategies. After listening their reports, we would like the participants to share the ideas about alternative solutions to those issues.

When: February 10th (10am ~5pm)
Where: Room 1409, Center Zone 1, Kyusyu University Ito Campus

We invite all graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in the environmental issues in Southeast and East Asia. 氾濫原・河川の自然再生事業に関するセミナーの案内(Announcement of a seminar about River Restoration)

国際シンポジウム Long-term monitoring for forest environment under the changing climateに合わせて来日されるDr. Stan Gregory(オレゴン州立大学・名誉教授)を迎え、氾濫原・河川の自然再生事業に関するセミナーを開催します。

I would like to announce an exciting seminar about river restoration.
We invite Dr. San Gregory, a professor from Oregon State University. He has been leading many research projects, involving riparian and stream ecology. He will give a talk about river and floodplain restoration of a large river. The seminar will be at Ito campus on December 6th.

He is visiting the Kyushu University in the week of December 2nd, and in addition to his research talk on December 6th, he will be giving a keynote speech at the symposium titled “Long-term monitoring for forest environment under the changing climate” on December 4th.

The seminar will be held with the following detail:

Date: December 6 (Fri), 2019, 10:30-12:00 (about 45 minutes talk and question period)
Place: West building No. 5, room 229
Language: English
This seminar is a good opportunity to listen and discuss the issues related to restoration of riparian forest and stream ecosystem in a large river.
